Celebrating our 12th Anniversary, the Queens World Film Festival (QWFF) runs in person for 6 days from November 1-6, 2022 and virtually on FilmFestivalFlix.com November 20 – December 4. You will be treated to the best of the live festival as well as several films that you can only see during the virtual festival. 

“This year’s films will be screened at 5 Queens gems: Flushing Town Hall, The Museum Of Moving Image, The Local, Kaufman Astoria Studios, and Queens Theatre in the Park and virtually on FilmFestivalFlix.com. There are over 35 blocks of thematically programmed shorts and features. Prizes and awards will be given in a variety of categories, including direction, screenplay, acting, cinematography, and more.  On November 2, at 7pm Queens World will honor four of this year’s five Spirit of Queens Honorees: Taryn Sacramone, Executive Director of Queens Theatre and the Chair of the Cultural Institutions Group; Sade Lythcott, Chief Executive Officer of the National Black Theatre and Chair of the Coalition of Theatres of Color; Lucy Sexton, Executive Director of New Yorkers for Culture & Arts), Ellen Kodadek, Executive and Artistic Director of Flushing Town Hall. These honorees will be recognized for their tireless work before, during, and after the pandemic lockdown by establishing spaces for cultural institutions to gather online, share resources, needs, and support. The presentation will be followed by a curated block of short films called Remarkable Women: Six short films about women being who they are.

On November 3 at 7pm at the Museum of the Moving Image, Sandra Schulberg, president of IndieCollect will be honored for her tireless work on behalf of the Indie Film community and for leading the charge for preserving Indie Films. The presentation will be followed by a screening of Sandra’s film FILMMAKERS FOR THE PROSECUTION which chronicles the work done to track down footage to assist in the prosecution of Nazi war criminals.
