NOTE: Good News doesn’t know all the US Government details on TPS and Work Authorization, but believes in the law and also believes in the right to speak out when people in America question their Freedom. Additionally, many years ago in the late 80’s, our Milestone Broadcast Corporation, est. 1985, was asked to help with the Asian American Amnesty Program for Illegal Immigrants; the request at that time was that they had to sign up with the government to stay. We believe now that illegal immigrants can still sign up, but then they must leave the country and face harsher consequences. Once again, Good News is not an authority on immigration into America.

Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and work authorization for 350,000 Haitian nationals ends July 24, 2026.

The Hands Off Faith Table, in collaboration with our partners at Black Communities for Immigrant Justice and the Interfaith Center of New York, invites you to join us for an evening of learning, reflection, and action centered on Black immigrant justice.

Black immigrants are an essential part of our congregations, neighborhoods, and the broader Black community, yet their experiences are too often excluded from national conversations about immigration reform. This gathering aims to build awareness and solidarity while sharing information, resources, and opportunities for advocacy in support of Black immigrant communities.

Together, we will explore why immigration is a Black justice issue, receive updates on national immigration policy and Temporary Protected Status (TPS), and share practical ways congregations can prepare for and respond to ICE activity. Participants will receive Know Your Rights resources for faith communities, guidance on responding when a congregant is detained, emergency preparedness and rapid response strategies, and opportunities to advocate for reform.

We encourage you to invite congregational leaders, ministry leaders, chaplains, prison ministry volunteers and others engaged in community care and justice work. We hope the practical information and resources shared will be helpful to the important work already underway in your congregation and community.

All faith leaders, seminarians, faith-based organizers and community members are welcome.

Refreshments will be provided.
