WHEN/WHY: Friday, September 19th, NYC City Hall Photo Opp. From 11 AM to 12 NOON, Mayor Adams TBD will ring the Peace Bell to start the weekend’s Peace Day Activities with a Moment/Meditative Minute of Silence in NYC DOE Schools, Admin. Departments and requesting all of Metro NYC to honor the UN International Day of Peace, on September 21 every year, which was established unanimously in the UN in 1982. McKinsey states that 1.6 billion are aware of the day.
Location: City Hall Park (please use the Broadway & Murray Street entrance)
Time: Meet at the steps at 11:00 AM
Ceremony: 11:15 AM – 12:00 PM NO MIKES, NO SOUND….
Program:
- Welcome & Peace Remarks + Meditation– Sister Jenna (10 mins) [Will confirm if Dust of Soul will accompany with Om Shanti a capella]
- Performance– AY YOUNG 10 mins)
- Peace Remarks– Paul (5 mins) Pastor,
- A cappella performance of “Imagine”– Antonique Smith (5 mins)
- Peace Bell Ceremony– FOWPAL (15 mins)
– Mayor Eric Adams TBD will ring the bell at 12:00 PM
