Speaker Adrienne Adams, Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, Comptroller Brad Lander and other elected leaders will join event marking the Jewish holiday of Pesach Sheni 

NEW YORK – On Thursday May 4 at 6 p.m. ET, Jewish leaders from Tirdof: New York Jewish Clergy for Justice will host New York City elected officials for “​​Pesach Sheni Tisch for Housing Justice.” To celebrate the little-known Jewish holiday of Pesach Sheni, the group will invite speakers to lead readings, share a holiday meal, and engage in advocacy for housing justice. Elected leaders including Comptroller Brad Lander, Councilmember Alexa Avilés, Speaker Adrienne Adams, and Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine will be in attendance for the celebration, along with community leaders including Pastor Gil Monrose and Rabbi Abby Stein.

The event is organized by Tirdof: New York Jewish Clergy for Justice as part of its inaugural Bayit campaign focused on supporting unhoused individuals. Tirdof is a partnership between T’ruah: A Rabbinic Call for Human Rights and Jews For Racial & Economic Justice (JFREJ Community), which unites Jewish clergy to organize with neighbors and allies for a New York City with freedom, opportunity, and dignity for all.
